Primary artworks throughout this album are from James Roach's own SoundCloud, where he uploaded tracks as volumes of Pesterquest were released (so earlier than this album's own release). Most of them are set on the background art asset used on the main menu of Hiveswap Friendsim.

But we're not exactly sure who drew it! Current in-game credits indicate Danny Kilgore was the background artist for the first two volumes. However, this asset isn't from Friendsim - it's actually part of Hiveswap Act 1. That game credits many artists in the role of "environment art", including Shelby Cragg.

Danny and Shelby's crediting in Hiveswap Friendsim are nuanced. The initial release of the game (i.e. including only the first two volumes) credits Shelby as "colorist, bg painting" and Danny for "character art, illustration". Some later update revised this, crediting Shelby only under "colorists" and Danny as "character artists, background artists".

The asset also brings its own nuance, because the file from Hiveswap does not include the MSPA reader's crashed rocket ship! Someone must have drawn (and colored) this for Hiveswap Friendsim. Meanwhile there are also plenty of original backgrounds in the first two volumes.

We're currently leaving this background art uncredited in the relevant track artworks' origin details. A handful of the track artworks are set on backgrounds which do come from Hiveeswap Friendsim, so those take from the in-game credits, like for all character sprites.
