Letra:

When I was young
I read something
I didn't know what all of it meant
But it touched a string in my heart
And I threw myself into a world of art

Don't care if nobody cares
I just got my trusty tablet with me
So what will the name of this young man be?

I'm torn between two fragile lines-
I can't wait to see what I find

Let's make something that forever lasts
And form a bond that lasts a lifetime
Cool and new, it's everything we do
I'm never going back to that old place

The only reason I'm doing this is because I love you
So let's make a web comic!

I'm losing my edge
But I was there on April 10
I was on the forums and skype
All the newgens tell me
"Don't make fanventures like that"
But I put a photo of my own face in mine
And you're still using it as an emoji!

Hey there
Would you like to talk about Homestuck?
Please don't run away from me
I'm not that kind of guy, you see
Hey there
Would you like to talk about Homestuck...

"Kaleido" ✑ booklet commentary

This is probably the stupidest song I've ever written. My idea was, well, "Chain of Prospit" is basically what people imagine a "Homestuck song with lyrics" would be like, with direct references to the comic itself. How about I take that one step further and just write a song ABOUT making Homestuck fan comics???

Our good friend Tay (AKA WHATISLOSTINTHEMINES) takes the reins here for the lead vocals, something they belted out in a day which is impressive. But also somehow I got Michael Guy Bowman himself to do the "Losing My Edge" LCD Soundsystem parody segment. We're all still trying to figure out how this happened.

There is also an interpolation of "Would You Like to Talk About Homestuck" by Ken Ashcorp here, a very old song that makes fun of Homestuck fans. I found it through the band Ear Piercings' cover of it, which takes its cynicism and turns the song into a genuine celebration of the fandom. If I was going to reference any song in this album, I thought it'd be this one.
