Chú thích của tác giả cho Showtime (Imp Strife Mix):

Buzinkaivia early commentary collection

I wrote this after listening to the original song for HOURS. I do believe this was what originally got me to send music to Andrew Hussie in a fan-mail and got me writing music for the project. It came down to the thought, "I wonder what that would sound like if I re-wrote it in my software." However, as with most of my obsessions, I got well carried away with it.

yknow im curious that the imp strife one is different did blakeslee make the original and buzinkai add it to the end of the final mix of imp strife? cuz thats how it always sounded to me

Lan:
The fanfare is written by blakeslee and buzinkai wrote the combat theme. Honestly, I expect someone else in charge of preparing the album (cindy?) may have decided to put the two together as one track, for the purpose of the album.

Just since a six second fanfare doesn't really work as its own track.
And they work together.

Erase:
well what im saying is that if you listen the 2 are quite different
and the one in the final vol. 1 release sounds more like buzinkai putting the fanfare there at the end rather than them just thowing it on

Lan:
Yeah
That is possible. Artists did extend their own tracks for the album.

Erase:
obviously i have no proof of this other than assumtion but i figured id bring it up

Lan:
like, I think this ONLY sounds different from the track in the album bc. it's Flash-compressed
the arrangement & instrumentation sounds identical to me

... and the one in the final vol. 1 release sounds more like buzinkai putting the fanfare there at the end rather than them just thowing it on

so I'm not convinced it does stand out as more like Buzinkai doing something 'unique' with the track, rather than someone on album prep 'just throwing it on'

Erase:
there are some changes for sure

a few different notes in the melody and the strings and other backing sticks around for longer

also the final square echoes for a bit longer

i guess what makes me second guess curt blakeslee making the fanfare is the fact that it uses instruments that seem to be like buzinkai customs or at least arent built into pxtone like the strings for example which if my memory serves me correctly she recorded from one of her keyboards(??) i think she said that in the doctor explained vid

its just a bit odd cuz how would he have gotten ahold of those sounds you could say maybe buzinkai shared them with the other team members but idk we have no proof of that and this is the only time that these weird custom buzinkai sounds are used in anything not officially by her in hs

Lan:
Thaaaanks, I certainly can’t deny that reasoning

Do you think it is reasonable that Buzinkai ported Blakeslee’s fanfare into her pxtone proj for the album, i.e. that yeah Blakeslee composed Fanfare, but we only hear Blakeslee’s (original) version in the flash; the version in the album is programmed & arranged by Buzinkai?

Erase:
that is fairly likely
i dont think the credit for curt would come out of nowhere

Lan:
Here are the credits (likely) as originally written

This predates Vol. 1 ofc.
(the credits were updated to align with the bandcamp/albums later, iirc 2011)

Fanfare itself has no involvement outside Blakeslee
Thus the “arrangement” was originally in terms of Showtime-original-mix only.

It is IMO most likely the credit was carried over directly to Imp Strife Mix on the album, and so “arrangement” there is not an acknowledgement of new work from Buzinkai for the album i.e. in arranging Fanfare as heard at the end.

That doesn’t at all rule out that Buzinkai is responsible there, just I don’t think the “arrangement” credit on Bandcamp is at all related.

That is also definitive that Blakeslee wrote Fanfare, almost certainly as we hear it in the flash

But you identify differences that I can’t hear ON MY PHONE and some of those differences, i.e. strings instrumentation, seem like Buzinkai fingerprint

And that is pretty clear grounds for listing Fanfare as expressly referenced, as opposed to sampled, in Imp Strife Mix.
