Marcy Nabors ✑ booklet commentary

Way back in good ol' 2012 I was in a little one-off band with Erik Scheele, Clark Powell, Riki Tsuji, and the ever-charismatic Michael Guy Bowman.

At one point we played a small backyard show of Mobius Trip and Hadron Kaleido tunes, along with many other Homestuck songs you all know and love, to a lovely audience of dedicated fans.

In an effort to pack our show with even more Homestuck material, we put together this cool medley as a live bit, based on songs some of the band members had worked on.

Four years later, and with the addition of some radicool guitar by Tensei and rockin' drums by Jamie Paige, we're pleased to present it to you in this glorious and shiny new form!

I recorded some vocals for Explare (as it was called at the time) like a year ago bc marcy was like "hey this might be on the next homestuck album?" and i really wanted to be on a homestuck album, so i show up for like twelve seconds. this is a dream come true

right at 2:37, it's some baritone choir stuff with no lyrics that I mixed kinda quietly, but it's more of a texture thing than anything else! I seem to have confused a lot of people with that credit......

Brainholes: I have this song on my phone and I listen to it 24/7 and it's always driven me crazy cus I would sit there and try to figure out if that part was vocal or instrumental lol I FINALLY KNOW NOW

My only real addition there was Solar Voyage. I didn't do any of the production for it, but Solar Voyage, which I think was coordinated by Marcy Nabors, was based on something we had put together at that South by Southwest show. We took Ruins, Explore, and Flare, and we mashed it up into one giant medley.

We really loved that one, and even though I didn't personally oversee getting that one produced, I was really glad that that one got organized and put on Volume 10. 'Cause, you know, that was one of that few IRL collaborations that we actually did together. I would have wished we could have done more with that. There weren't the resources to, you know, permanently do a Homestuck band or something, but the chance to, you know, really bring it out in person, and have cosplayers be there and listen to the stuff we made, was so cool.
