This was the soundtrack for Act 6 Act 4 (literally all of Act 6 Act 4). I was as surprised as everyone else to see the song in the update; I don't think I've had a day made quite like this in a good long while!

The Belly Mix was published back on Volume 8, but I originally put this remix together for Tavia Morra. She is a fantastic belly dancer and also, not coincidentally, this song's namesake! Legend has it that she has a full dance choreographed to this song (it's amazing).

This one has a bit of a story behind it.
I am a belly dancer and most mornings I make it a point to drill choreography and fundamentals. At first I was drilling to some dance music to get my blood going, slowed things down, then moved to some more traditional music. In the process I found Even in Death made it’s move in to the playlist as the Kodo sound naturally caught my ear. I let Plaz know this and soon I found her picking my brain for what I listen to when I’m developing a choreography. She sent me versions of Even in Death for my own use. Luckily she decided to stick the new “Belly Mix” version on the latest album.

As for the art of the piece I decided to dress as Hadron Kaleido since she was designed to be a dancer. It was the most relatably way to attach belly dancing to Homestuck.

The art side of it was especially fun. A lot of editing and detail work went in to this. I’m especially fond of the red and violet eyes.
